JASON STEPHENS / Director – Writer – Producer

Jason Stephens started his film-making career at the young age of 12, making SNL style videos with his Grandmother’s video camera. Through classes, training seminars, and self-teaching, Jason learned lighting, non-linear editing with AVID and Final Cut Pro, professional video camera operation, and the general principles involved with producing a film. Jason wrote and directed a short film that was picked up as part of a Horror Trilogy and distributed nationally and internationally.

In 1997, Jason formed Unknown Productions Incorporated a film and video production company. Jason wrote and directed the crime drama / horror film, “Decay” which also received national and international distribution, despite the limits of a micro-budget. Jason has been credited as a director, camera operator, gaffer, grip, and weapons wrangler. Jason has credits on more than a dozen feature films.

In 2001, Unknown Productions began operating out of a production studio in Ventura County. In addition to his full time profession as a Police Officer, Jason has produced commercials, corporate training films, web content, and assisted with features, pilot television programs, and student films. Jason has voluntarily produced commercials for the California Attorney General and the National Cops N Jocks program.
