
JOHN DOBROTH / 'Lyle'
A new face to the independent film industry, John Dobroth has experienced successes in other areas. John’s interest in entertaining and satisfying his competitive drive, started in college, where his early adulthood was centered around competitive high jumping. He qualified for the US Olympic trials in the Decathlon in 1968 and twice ranked among the top 10 high jumpers in the world. After college, and a stint at teaching, he received his law degree from UCLA and began a career as a prosecutor trying murder cases. He won county-wide elective office where he was able to develop programs for the homeless and at-risk juveniles.
John also founded Everyone’s Daughter, an organization dedicated to helping drug addicted young women with pregnancy issues. John Dobroth found a passion for film and the film making process, began studying theater, screenwriting, and independent film production.
For several years, John has been a part of “Theater 150’s Scene Study Workshops” with Dwire Brown. John also Performed at the Auction House Theater in the role of "Rueben" in Alan Sorkin’s "Hidden in This Picture." With a background in acting, John also accepted a small part in “NECROSIS” playing “LYLE” the dead caretaker. While John helps with the production aspect of NECROSIS, he is also working on multiple screenplays and a stage-play about Restorative Justice.
